This boldly cinematic trio of stories about love and loss from Krzysztof Kieślowski (The Double Life of Véronique) was a defining event of the art-house boom of the 1990s. The films were named for the colors of the French flag and stand for the tenets of the French Revolution—liberty, equality, and fraternity—but this hardly begins to explain their enigmatic beauty and rich humanity. Set in Paris, Warsaw, and Geneva, and ranging from tragedy to comedy, Blue, White, and Red (Kieślowski’s final film) examine with artistic clarity a group of ambiguously interconnected people experiencing profound personal disruptions. Marked by intoxicating cinematography and stirring performances by such actors as Juliette Binoche (Summer Hours), Julie Delpy (Before Sunset), Irène Jacob (The Double Life of Véronique), and Jean-Louis Trintignant (Z), Kieślowski’s Three Colors is a benchmark of contemporary cinema.

Blue In the devastating first film of the Three Colors trilogy, Juliette Binoche gives a tour de force performance as Julie, a woman reeling from the tragic deaths of her husband and young daughter. But Blue is more than just a blistering study of grief; it’s also a tale of liberation, as Julie learns truths about her late composer husband’s life and attempts to free herself of the past. Shot in icily gorgeous tones by Sławomir Idziak (The Double Life of Véronique) and set to an extraordinary operatic score by Zbigniew Preisner (The Secret Garden), Blue is an overwhelming sensory experience.

White The most playful but also the grittiest of Kieślowski’s Three Colors films follows the adventures of Karol Karol (The Pianist’s Zbigniew Zamachowski), a Polish immigrant living in France. The hapless hairdresser opts to leave Paris for his native Warsaw after his wife (Julie Delpy) sues him for divorce (her reason: he was never able to perform in bed) and then frames him for arson after setting her own salon ablaze. White, which goes on to chronicle Karol Karol’s elaborate revenge plot, manages to be both a ticklish dark comedy about the economic inequalities of Eastern and Western Europe and a sublime reverie about twisted love. 1993

Red Krzysztof Kieślowski closes his Three Colors trilogy in grand fashion with an incandescent meditation on fate and chance, starring Irène Jacob as a sweet-souled yet somber runway model in Geneva whose life intersects with that of a bitter retired judge, played by Jean Louis Trintignant. Their blossoming friendship forces each to open up in surprising emotional ways. Meanwhile, just down the street, a seemingly unrelated story of jealousy and betrayal unfolds. Red is an intimate look at forged connections and a splendid final statement from a remarkable filmmaker at the height of his powers.

Tips About De-Thatching Blades

!: Tips About De-Thatching Blades

Thatch is one of the healthiest parts of a green and healthy lawn as it provides your lawn with the essential nutrients that will help keeping its green and healthy. Thatch is basically a thin layer of clippings of grass, mosses, small twigs and branches and seeds that fall on your lawn during summers, and when all these accumulate at the bottom blades of your grass over the top of the soil, they are called thatch.

Generally, a healthy layer of thatch is about half inch thick so that it easily allows moisture to get into the soil carrying nutrients to its roots for its more healthy growth. However, with the passage of time, if proper care is not taken then there are chances that the thatch will keep on accumulating and form a much thicker layer of more than the desired healthy layer. This thick layer can block your lawn grass from getting all the essential nutrients and moisture thus forming hindrance in its growth. Therefore, it is essential to remove the unhealthy layer of thatch for a more healthy and green lawn.

For the dethatching of your lawn, it is advisable to divide your lawn into short patches. This will make your task of thatching up much easier. There are numerous ways, manual as well as mechanical, by which you can dethatch your lawn. Manual methods include removing thatch layer by vigorous raking, however, this can be quite difficult and back breaking task. Mechanical ways are much easier and convenient. You can make use of a lawn dethatcher or a dethatching rake, a thatching machine, or a lawn sweeper. All these machines serve the same purpose of removing the undesired thatch from your lawn.

You can make use of a lawnmower by attaching it with dethatching Blade attachments. However, it has been witnessed that a lawn dethatcher machine is much more efficient than dethatching blade of lawn mower. Also they are much more convenient and are less time consuming as well. A lawn dethatcher machine makes use of four sets of vertically spinning raking blades that hit the surface of the ground in a perpendicular angle. The pulley that is placed over the engine is the main part that spins the blades. The working of lawn de-thacher machine is just like a brush that combs thatches and snarls out of the lawn, without destroying or uprooting the grass.

Dethatching your lawn by making use of lawn de-thacher is that your lawn looks neat, tidy, and healthy and the overall look of your lawn gets improved. Moss, weeds and all other thatches that block your lawn grass form the essential nutrients and water can easily be removed without having to put much effort with the help of mechanical lawn dethatched.

There are several dethatching devices in the market as well as there are numerous types of dethatching blades. You can easily purchase dethatching blades from any hardware stores. You can even purchase these blades over the World Wide Web. There are numerous online stores selling dethatching blade of different sizes and types. You can place order with them. Payment options with such websites are usually safe and secured and usually they offer easy options. Once you have made the payment and have placed the order, you will receive the set of blades that you have ordered, at your doorsteps.

Buying a Zero Turn Mower

!: Buying a Zero Turn Mower

If you're ever taken a look at the lawn equipment that professional landscapers use you would have noticed that they tend to use what are called Zero Turn Mowers. A Zero Turn Mower or Zero-Radius Turn Mower is a lawn mower that has the ability to turn 180 degrees on the spot, completely changing directions without missing any grass. With Zero Turn Mowers, the amount of edging that you will have to do is drastically reduced, which will cut down on the overall time it takes to cut the grass.

Zero Turn Mowers have been used by commercial landscapers for a number of years but have recently caught on with homeowners as well. Consider a homeowner with a large lawn to cut, reducing the time it take to cut the grass is important. Also important is cutting down on the number of different machines that have to be used during on lawn cutting. Traditionally large lawns were cut with a riding mower, then trimmed with a push mower and then more trimming was done with a trimmer. This is a very time consuming.

By using a Zero Turn Mower, trimming can almost be eliminated. Zero Turn Mowers are able to navigate close to obstacles without having to backup and go forward multiple times. This is especially important for the aging population as trimming with a push mower can be quite physically demanding.

Zero Turn Mowers operate much like bulldozer with a lever on the left and right of the driver that essentially causes the speed of one of the wheels to vary, which causes it to turn in the direction of the slower wheel.

The normal configuration for a zero turn mower is to have the engine mounted behind the driver and the cutting deck in front. The rear wheels are usually powered and the front wheels are able to swivel in whatever direction the mower is turned, much like the front wheels on a shopping cart.

For a homeowner with a large lawn or a professional landscaper it would be beneficial to buy a Zero Turn Lawn Mower rather than a traditional riding lawn mower. Although they do cost slightly more than a riding lawn mower, the efficiency achieved will make it well worth the purchase price.
